Kennedy Young, PT, DPT

Kennedy received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from James Madison University. Kennedy’s interest in physical therapy began while shadowing a nurse at a local hospital. Kennedy was enamored by the positive, trusting relationships formed between providers and patients, and the gratification from patient’s when completing their goals.

While pursuing her degree at James Madison University, Kennedy served as a health and fitness intern at the Morrison Bruce Center for the Promotion of Healthy Living of Women and Girls. During this time, she spearheaded several public health events and initiatives which focused on educating women and children on the importance of good nutrition and an active lifestyle. She also regularly volunteered with the local Special Olympics chapter. During her time at Arcadia University, Kennedy performed her doctoral research focusing on improving ambulation in children with cerebral palsy. Kennedy went on to serve as the inaugural Clinic Coordinator of Arcadia University’s Pro Bono Clinic, presenting strategies for patient recruitment at the National Pro Bono Network Conference in 2020. While completing her clinical rotations, Kennedy had the opportunity to treat a variety of diagnoses while gaining experience treating patients with chronic low back, neck, and shoulder pain. During her final, pediatric affiliation, she treated musculoskeletal conditions such as torticollis, developmental coordination disorder, hemiplegia, and hypotonia.

Outside of the clinic, Kennedy enjoys spending time with family and friends, pilates, painting, reading, travelling, and learning how to ski.
