Abbey Clayton earned her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Clarkson College, after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Exercise, and Health Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She was drawn to physical therapy from a young age, when she suffered an injury that kept her from playing the sports she was passionate about. She believes in teaching each patient the tools to implement healthy lifestyle behaviors to promote overall well-being. Each day she is motivated to learn about each of her patients’ goals and aspirations so that she can provide the appropriate care that is specific to each individual.
Abbey is originally from Norfolk, Nebraska and recently moved to New York City to further pursue her career as a physical therapist assistant. She has been practicing for over a year and her primary experience has been in outpatient, PT owned, private practice clinics. Within her first year of clinical experience, she has had continuing education in pelvic health therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, dance medicine, and dance specific strength and conditioning training. She is also Level 1 Rock Tape certified.
Abbey enjoys spending time with family and friends and being active as much as she can. She loves biking, hiking, running, and traveling!
