Alberto earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Illinois – Chicago. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology from Occidental College, along with a Minor in Music. While at Oxy, he also played NCAA Division III football and helped resurrect the jazz big band.
Alberto has seen quite a few different sides of physical therapy and loved almost all of it, whether it be pediatrics, sports injuries, work injuries, wound care (chronic and post-surgical), joint replacements, or finally getting rid of that pain that just keeps coming back. He loves to help his patients understand what’s going on with their bodies, and help them avoid future issues. Alberto has trained in orthopedic manual therapy, including joint mobilization, IASTM, and dry needling.
Alberto directs his care towards helping his patients live the lives they want to live. Sometimes it’s the injured worker trying to rediscover a normal life. Sometimes it’s the runner or cyclist freaking out because their event is coming up and don’t know if they can do it, or high school athlete not wanting to miss out. Sometimes it’s grandma/pa wondering how they’re going to get around and keep living on their own. We all end up with our own challenges, and Alberto loves helping people meet those challenges.
Alberto no longer races but still loves being out on the bike, and despite recently finishing his first marathon somehow still tolerates running. In between those, he enjoys hanging out with family and friends, crosswords, cooking, exploring all the little nooks of a neighborhood, and trying all manner of food.
