Julia earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Columbia University and her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. While completing her Bachelor’s degree, Julia served as an intern at the rehabilitation center for University of Florida athletes, working as a Personal Trainer and performing as a competitive dancer.
During her clinical rotations, Julia gained experience treating patients of all ages with various orthopedic conditions. Julia’s interest in physical therapy is rooted in her passion for promoting balanced lifestyles. She collaborates with her patients to create individualized, realistic treatment plans to help her patients meet their goals. She aims to give her patients the education and tools they need to independently manage their conditions and prevent re-injury.
One of Julia’s interests is studying the preventative role physical therapists have on the pediatric population. Julia completed advanced pediatric coursework at Columbia and presented her research on Physical Therapy Management of Childhood Obesity at the 2020 Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy Annual Conference. Julia also attended service trips to Guatemala and Haiti, where she had the opportunity to treat underserved pediatrics with neurological and orthopedic diagnoses.
When she is not at clinic, you can find Julia staying active running by the Hudson River and practicing yoga. Julia always makes time for her favorite hobbies like going to the farmer’s market, trying new Italian restaurants, and celebrating life with family and friends.
